God of Comfort

The God of Comfort

It’s all around us everyday from the sublime to its opposite. In its efforts to slowly get there versus I’m going to arrive as quick as possible; everybody is looking for comfort.

In today’s culture, comfort comes in array of different sizes, styles, opinions, behaviors and from the least expensive to the most extravagantly priced commodity. All ranging from benign to everything but healthy with the end result never completely satisfying our comfort cravings.

Although humans need a healthy type of comforting, if it’s only pursued in the physical it’s easy to understand why we are never full or satisfied. Why? because we are more than body. We are also spirit. In other words, we have to address not only the physical but the spiritual essence of who we are. When we don’t, we are addressing only one half of ourselves leaving our spiritual health unattended to. As we continue this cycle our spiritual health declines leaving us not only out-of-balance but needing a spiritual infusion of God’s presence to revive us.

2 Corinthians 1:3

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort

Only the divine comfort of God can fully satisfy our spiritual self causing a glorious change within our internal environment that helps us to recognize the most important part of our being is spirit. And as we continue to seek and communicate our spirit to God’s spirit, we achieve God’s fulfillment of comfort that overflows into our physical body where our existence is never out-of-balance and thrives in the spiritual health brought forth by God.
