Me-ology
All of us have it. It's part of what makes us who we are. It's a good thing when its managed and anything but when we don't. We call it ego.
The study of the ego in itself may be considered egocentric after all, its about that part of us that is centered on what?...more of us! It completely fills the "all about me" category that our society has implemented to the point where if it's not all about "feuling our ego" we become viewed as an outsider or a non-conformist regarding the me-ology lifestyle.
I understand my ego is apart of who I am. Yet, its unbridled existence brings with it undesired effects upon my spiritual health. Dragging me away from my true center or foundation which is God. It's ropes of self-talk tell me about the importance of me, to fulfill all of my wants, desires and wishes regardless of extreme or expense to others. To prop myself up over and above everything else and within this framework it takes its position of self-made idolatry.
Focusing only on oneself can never be healthy. It only breeds more of the same within its patterned behavior. A never ending thirst to try and fill the "me syndrome" that is never satisfied and overtime it can affect the entire being as well as spilling into the external world.
God created us to think about or meditate on Him day and night knowing as we do it brings our spirit-mind health back in proper alignment but also shifts our vision into the proper spiritual focus. This chain reaction goes throughout our entire body. So, in other words, God's instructions tells us to not only commune with Him which affects our spiritual health but our overall health as well. In other words, He's given us the golden management key.
It's up to us if we choose to walk away from the me-ology lifestyle and keep God first in our lives so we can live within the preferred existence He created us to dwell in.
